PAGE TO STAGE: LIGHTNING WRITES
PAGE 2 STAGE: LIGHTNING WRITES was a free to attend professional development programme for 10 early career writers who are Working-Class, D/deaf, disabled and/or Neurodivergent. Running at BOLD Elephant in Summer 2025, the inaugural programme supported ten writers over 5 days to create the beginnings of a new monologue or dualogue for the stage, alongside industry-led workshops, 1-2-1 support, and the opportunity to work with actors on their pieces. The week culminated in a professionally filmed showcase of excerpts of the writers' newly developed pieces, performed by four talented actors also from Working-Class, D/deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent backgrounds. The project was supported by Arts Council England.
